Local Governing Board
The Board of Directors of the Multi Academy Trust is the statutory Governing Board of the academies within it. Our Multi Academy Trust is called Prime 7 and includes our school, Middleton Cheney Primary Academy and Kings Sutton Primary Academy.
Our Local Governing Board is a committee of the Board of Directors of Prime 7 and is empowered by them to carry out much of the governance function via a Scheme of Delegation.
The Local Governing Board is a strategic Board which has providing the best possible education and educational opportunities for all of the pupils in a supportive caring environment at its heart.
The Department for Education is clear that its three core functions are:
- Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction
- Holding the Head of School to account for the educational performance of the academy and its pupils
- Scrutinising the financial performance of the academy and making sure its money is well spent.
These functions are fulfilled in partnership with Prime 7 with specific reference to the details contained in the Scheme of Delegation.
The Local Governing Board meets once every half term.
In addition to the formal meetings the governors also get involved with school matters in a variety of other ways. The Chair regularly meets with the Head of School to undertake interim reviews of any issues the school may be having. All of the governors have dedicated subjects and areas of responsibilities and there is a rota of school visits planned and agreed with the Head of School.
